LETTER: Transit changes could have major impact on Sidney residents

All bus riders in Sidney should be aware that BC Transit is proposing many bus route changes, including rerouting #72 and #81. This means that North Sidney residents may no longer be able to access a regular bus into downtown Sidney.

This service is essential to many residents, some of whom no longer drive but regularly take the bus into Sidney for their everyday needs. Loss of this service would have a major impact on many local residents and threaten their independence (myself included – I am a senior with limited mobility).

If this affects you or someone you know, please contact BC Transit, the Town of Sidney, and anyone else who may have influence. Let your voice be heard before these changes are finalized. Also watch for news of an upcoming BC Transit survey.
