After a rough 2025, Pacific FC has sent a message this off-season: change is coming.

Taras Gomulka is the latest addition to a roster in overhaul mode.

The Langford-based Tridents signed the Australian midfielder on a guaranteed contract for 2026, with a club option for 2027. Gomulka arrives from Perth Glory of the Australian A-League Men.

“We are excited to add Taras to our team for the 2026 season,” said Pacific FC head coach James Merriman.

“He will be an important player in the midfield. He’s a box-to-box midfielder with the quality to control the rhythm and tempo of the game. He brings experience and personality.”

Gomulka is the second international signing from Australia in the past two weeks, following Bul Juach.

“At just 24, he’s proven himself with consistent performances at a high level. He’s come in ambitious and hungry,” Merriman added.

The central midfielder has played for several clubs in Australia, including Adelaide United, Melbourne City FC, Brisbane Roar, and most recently, Perth Glory, where he appeared in 22 matches in 2024-25.

He was a part of Melbourne City’s championship double-winning squad in the 2020-21 A-League season.

Perth Glory football director Stan Lazaridis said the move gives Gomulka a chance for more first-team minutes.

“Taras had not been getting game time this season, and now he has the opportunity to open a new chapter in his career overseas,” Lazaridis said.

Gomulka has represented Australia at the youth international level, earning one cap for the Young Socceroos. He also holds Ukrainian citizenship and is eligible to play for their national team.

The signing is part of a broader off-season shakeup for Pacific FC.

Along with Gomulka and Juach, the Tridents have added centre-backs Joshua Belluz and Diego Konincks, as well as goalkeeper Eleias Himaras.

At the same time, Pacific will be without several key players from 2025.

Player of the Year Aly Ndom moved to Persijap Jepara, all-time appearance leader Sean Young joined Loudoun United, and Dario Zanatta signed with Tormenta FC.

Pacific finished the 2025 CPL season in seventh place, scoring a league-low 30 goals across 28 matches.

Pacific FC will open the 2026 season on April 5 at Starlight Stadium in Langford.
