Family fun at Victoria Fire Department

The Victoria Fire Department (VFD) is throwing a family-friendly open house on Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It will be hosted at the Fire Department Headquarters at 1025 Johnson Street. 

The event will include: 

  • Visit the fire hall and B.C. ambulance station;
  • Take part in activities and games;
  • Meet Sparky the fire safety dog;
  • Check out the fire truck fleet, including the new electric fire truck and a pumper truck from 1925;
  • The Victoria Firefighters Foundation charity barbecue.

Johnson Street will be closed between Vancouver and Cook Street. The city is advising to walk, cycle, roll or bus down to the open house. Free bicycle parking will be available on-site.
