Losing an eye has not dimmed the shine of Paris one bit, according to the Victoria branch of the BC SPCA.
“She must have been in so much pain,” said Emma Hamill, BC SPCA’s Victoria animal centre manager manager.
The cat was saved from a forested rural area located outside Victoria.
The infected eye that Paris had when she arrived at the shelter were dealt with immediately by a veterinarian.
Paris is currently with a BC SPCA foster, waiting for her eye-removal surgery, and has help from her foster brother Arthur.
“He had to have a limb amputated and is now a beautiful tripod kitty.”
Petsecure Pet Health Insurance has stepped in to help Paris and donated $3,000 towards her medical costs.
The public is encouraged to help donate towards the rest of the medical costs by visiting SPCA.ca.
As soon as Paris has recovered from her surgery, she will be available for adoption.
