A group of Japanese students is coming to Victoria to get a taste of Canadian culture.

From July 26 to Aug. 8, students from Kamakura Jogakuin High School will be in town participating and learning about '"Canadian life."

"We are thrilled to be welcoming the Kamakura Jogakuin, HS group again this year," Cheryl Lee, COO of Canadian International Student Services, Muskoka Language International said in a news release. "Families often have life-changing experiences right in their own backyard. It's amazing for the students and equally rewarding for our hosts."

Students will be hosted at the Pacific Christian Elementary campus for a host matching ceremony before departing on Aug. 8. While on campus, they will have a guest speaker from Global Girls.

After the ceremony, there will be plenty of time for the students and host families to get familiar with each other.

"It is beautiful to see the friendships formed between students and hosts," Lee said.

During their two weeks of exploring the Island, they will get to experiences items like outdoor barbecues, s'mores, Sunday morning pancakes, and more, according to Muskoka Language International.
